Today, the world has an estimated 87% of the world’s popuation has a mobile phone and here in the United States over 100% of the population has a mobile phone, some people have more than one! With the year winding down we have seen a huge spike in mobile advertising however it isn’t even close to where the numbers will settle.

Many advertisers are slow to adopt mobile advertising simple because it is a new frontier. It is primed and ready for any business to take the reigns and begin advertising to the masses. With the large amount of mobile devices being used along with smartphones and tablets, immense amounts of data is being shared every second. Most of this data is being shared by mobile phone with people constantly texting,reading,working right off their mobile phones.

It is simply a matter of time before the first ‘viral’ SMS campaign happens. Why can’t it be your business? The last half of the 2012 calendar year was spend on optimizing websites for mobile and devices. Content today may be created on a desktop however that same content is being consumed on a mobile device. This upcoming year get ready for the year of mobile advertising.
